Every therapeutic relationship begins somewhere. At Reddy Psychotherapy, that beginning is a series of six weekly sessions, which provides enough time for you to get a feel for the process, and for me to begin to understand your story.
From there, the approach emerges naturally. Drawing on Jungian, existential and humanistic frameworks, I work collaboratively with each client to find what fits and what doesn’t. I actively encourage you to tell me if something doesn’t feel right. We can’t find the right direction without knowing when something isn’t working.
Therapy can be challenging. It isn’t always a comfortable experience, and that’s okay. The fact that you’re here, putting time and thought into yourself, already matters. My aim is to make sure that whatever is difficult feels as manageable as possible.
A space designed with you in mind
The therapy room is located in the heart of Limerick City, easily reached by public transport, car, or on foot. The building is home to many different businesses and services, which means your visit is entirely your own. There are no signs or indicators that would draw attention to why anyone might be coming or going. Sometimes that matters, and we want you to know it has been thought about.
The office is on the top floor, away from the street, with lift access for anyone unable to use the stairs and a fully accessible bathroom on site. From the moment you approach, the space has been considered with your comfort and privacy in mind.
Step inside, and the room itself is warm and welcoming. Neutral tones with quiet pops of colour, natural light, and a view across the city skyline that reminds you the world is still out there, even as you take this time for yourself. The chairs are soft and grounding. There is artwork, chosen carefully. Present but unhurried, there to be noticed or not. The room holds its own quiet, leaving room for your thoughts to arrive alongside you.
Working remotely
Not everyone can make it to Limerick City, and not everyone wants to. Whether distance, mobility, schedule or personal preference brings you to remote working, Reddy Psychotherapy offers therapeutic sessions online to the same standard as in person.
There is no hierarchy here between one format and the other. In person and remote each have their own qualities, and what matters most is that you have access to support in a way that works for you. If you’re not sure which might suit you best, we can talk it through together.
Remote sessions can take place via video or voice call, using platforms chosen with your confidentiality in mind. On your end, all that’s needed is a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and won’t be interrupted. If you’re unsure about that or want to talk through how it works before committing, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Working with young people
If you’re a young person reading this, this space is for you. If you’re a parent or guardian who has found this page on behalf of someone you care about, you’re equally welcome here. This section is for both of you.
Reddy Psychotherapy works with adolescents aged 13 and over. The process looks a little different to adult therapy, and we want you both to know what to expect from the beginning.
It starts with a parental intake which is a conversation with parents and guardians to gather some background and begin to understand the young person’s story from a carer’s perspective. From there, the first session brings everyone together briefly to share and clarify that picture, before the space becomes entirely the young person’s own.
From that point, confidentiality is taken seriously. What is shared in sessions stays in sessions, unless there is a concern for the safety or wellbeing of the young person or someone else. This isn’t about keeping secrets from parents. It’s about giving the young person a space that is genuinely theirs, where they can speak freely and begin to find their voice.
Parents and guardians are invited to a check-in roughly every six sessions. Not to share what has been discussed, but to keep communication open and make sure everyone feels supported in the process. The aim is never to take sides. It is to bring both parties to the same page, and to work together in the interest of the young person at the centre of it all.
Creative therapies
Talk therapy is a genuinely valuable practice, especially when engaged with regularly. But sometimes words don't quite reach what you're feeling, deep in your mind, body or soul. When that's the case, there are other ways of working.
Art therapeutic practices can be woven into our sessions together, whether as a companion to conversation or as the whole focus of a session. Materials are available in the therapy room, whether you'd like to try something in the moment or want to commit to working creatively from the very start.
Sandtray is another creative approach, bringing a sense of play into the therapeutic space. Using figurines as symbols that can represent anything and everything, we can engage with them on their own or place them in the sand. This kind of work reaches the unconscious, allowing us to access what words can't always hold, or to see something familiar in a new light.
There are many other ways to work creatively in this space. If there's something you need to express that simply can't be said, we'll find your way of saying it together.
An accessible pathway — sessions with a student therapist
Therapy shouldn’t be out of reach. Reddy Psychotherapy offers sessions with a student therapist as a more affordable alternative, because we believe that access to quality support matters regardless of budget.
Each student therapist is working towards their full qualification and completing their placement with Reddy Psychotherapy. They follow the IACP code of ethics, work to a high standard, and bring with them a close and current relationship with therapeutic theory and practice. Their work is supported and overseen throughout.
Before beginning with a student therapist, we’ll have a conversation to make sure it’s the right fit for you and them. Where it is, you’ll have access to a genuine, high quality therapeutic experience at a much more accessible price point. Where it isn’t, we’ll talk through the options and find the best way forward together.
